Terms
These terms apply to the LazyJack app at https://app.lazyjack.app. By creating an account you agree to them. How your data is handled is in the privacy notice for the app.
Last changed 3 October 2026.
Who you are dealing with
LazyJack is run by Amit Peer, a private person in Norway. Write to support@lazyjack.app about anything in these terms.
A free beta
LazyJack is in beta. It is free, it will have faults, and it will change: features may be added, changed or removed. It may also stop altogether. If we stop the app, or remove something you rely on, we tell you by email at least 30 days before, so you have time to download everything.
A record, not a safety system
LazyJack is a tool for keeping records about your boat. It is not a navigation system or a safety system, and it does not replace your own checks.
- You, as skipper or owner, stay responsible for the vessel, its seaworthiness and the safety of everyone aboard.
- Reminders, due dates, the Today page and the "Do first" list come only from what has been recorded. They are not a guarantee that nothing else is due or wrong.
- Positions and maps in the app are for the record. Do not navigate by them.
Your data
What you put into LazyJack is yours. You let us store, process and show it only to run the app for you. You can download all of it at any time from the Account page, and delete your account there at any time.
Only put in what you have the right to keep: for example, files you are allowed to copy, and other people's details only with their agreement.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself. What is done with your account is your responsibility, unless someone got in through a fault of ours.
- An account holds one boat.
- If you connect an AI assistant, it acts with the permissions you approved, and what it does in LazyJack counts as done with your account. You can revoke it in Settings, Connected access.
Fair use
Do not:
- use LazyJack for anything unlawful, or store content that is unlawful or that you have no right to store;
- try to reach other accounts' data, or get around a limit or a permission;
- upload anything meant to cause harm, such as malware;
- send automated requests beyond normal use of the app or of an assistant you connected. The server limits how often some things can be done, such as sign-in attempts and assistant registrations, and more limits may be added;
- resell access to LazyJack.
If an account breaks these rules or puts the service at risk, we may limit or close it. We tell you why, and, except where the risk or the law prevents it, give you the chance to download your data first.
If paid plans come
LazyJack may offer paid plans later. If it does, beta users are told in advance, and nothing you use is moved behind a payment without notice. These stay free on every plan:
- Recording a problem, checklists and the Today page: anything that bears on safety.
- Using the app offline, and syncing between your own devices.
- A full export of your records and files, and deleting your account.
- Reading your own records after a change of plan or a payment that lapsed. Nothing is deleted or hidden.
No guarantee, and limits on liability
The app is provided as it is, during a free beta, with no promise that it is free of faults, always available or fit for a particular purpose. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose: Download everything on the Account page makes one.
To the extent Norwegian law allows, we are not liable for loss that follows from using or not being able to use LazyJack, including lost data, and including decisions about the boat or a voyage taken on the strength of what the app shows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for gross negligence or intent, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can download your data and delete your account before then.
Law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. If we disagree about them, we will first try to settle it by talking. A consumer can also bring a complaint to Forbrukerrådet, and keeps the right to go to the courts where they live.
